The Role
We’re looking for a Strategist to help turn insight, analysis, and research into clear, actionable strategic direction for our clients.
This role is ideal for someone early in their strategy career who combines analytical confidence with strategic curiosity, able to spot patterns in data, interpret meaning, and contribute to insight-led recommendations.
You’ll work closely with Partners, Consultants, Strategists, and Analysts across a wide range of B2B client engagements. Through structured mentoring, exposure to live projects, and a clear career framework, you’ll develop your strategic craft and build the foundations for progression into more senior strategy roles.
Key Responsibilities
Insight & Strategy Development
- Support the development of strategic thinking through research, analysis, and synthesis.
- Interpret quantitative and qualitative inputs to surface patterns, tensions, and opportunities.
- Contribute to audience, market, and competitor understanding to inform strategic direction.
- Help shape early hypotheses, strategic narratives, and points of view.
Strategic Analysis & Interpretation
- Use data and research outputs to inform strategic choices rather than just report findings.
- Sense-check inputs, assumptions, and implications to ensure recommendations are grounded.
- Support light-touch commercial analysis to contextualise strategic decisions.
- Maintain rigour and accuracy across insights while focusing on what it means for clients.
Strategic Deliverables & Storytelling
- Build clear, structured slides that connect insight to implication and recommendation.
- Support the development of strategic frameworks, messaging architectures, and narratives.
- Help turn complex thinking into simple, compelling client-ready outputs.
- Uphold Magnus’ high standards for clarity, structure, design, and strategic coherence.
Collaboration & Consulting Exposure
- Work closely with senior strategists and consultants to translate insight into direction.
- Participate in internal working sessions, project reviews, and selected client meetings.
- Capture key discussions, decisions, and next steps to support project momentum.
Skills & Capabilities
Tools & Ways of Working
- Excellent PowerPoint skills with an eye for structure, flow, and clarity.
- Confident working with Excel and research outputs to support strategic thinking.
- Familiarity with analytics, research, or planning tools is a plus.
- Strong using AI and emerging tools to support research, synthesis, and efficiency.
Strategic Thinking & Mindset
- Able to move from insight → implication → strategic recommendation.
- Understands core B2B marketing, brand, and commercial principles.
- Balances analytical rigour with creative and conceptual thinking.

- Primarily project-team facing, with growing exposure to client interactions.
- Supports partners and consultants with thinking, materials, and coordination.

Experience required
- Degree in business, marketing, economics, or related field (or strong relevant experience).
- 1–3 years’ experience in strategy, research, or marketing environments.
- Analytical and creative mindset, able to interpret data and shape meaning.
- Confident communicator with excellent written and presentation skills.
- Familiarity with frameworks (SWOT, 5Ps, customer journey mapping) and a willingness to learn.
- Excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills; exposure to Miro, Notion, or analytics tools a plus.
